Methodology

The BOB Bitcoin Loan Rate Index tracks the published rates of the active US Bitcoin-backed loan lenders we cover. We capture each lender's rate weekly. APR is the effective rate, including mandatory origination fees where published.

The lowest and median figures above are computed from the 6 lenders with a published APR floor. Lenders that quote only by consultation are listed but excluded from the median. We exclude a lender from the index when we cannot place it on a like-for-like basis: currently Nexo (US relaunch terms not yet published) and CoinRabbit (no published rate tiers, so a $100k figure cannot be derived).
